Austin 3:16 says I just played a card.
WWE has entered the digital card game realm today with WWE SuperCard, a free-to-play title available now for iOS and Android. Players can collect more than 400 cards representing superstars from WWE’s past and present, including current and past starts such as Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Steve Austin, and Hulk Hogan. You can earn more cards by either winning matches or by purchasing packs.
The digital card game genre has recently seen a huge hit in Blizzard’s Hearthstone, a free-to-play experience available on PC, Mac, and iPad. It achieved more than 10 million downloads back in May. WWE and publisher 2K are certainly looking for a piece of that lucrative pie, specifically by targeting the gigantic mobile market.
SuperCard also gives 2K a chance to use the WWE license before the release of WWE 2K15 on Oct. 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
