Apple introduced a pair of larger iPhones today, and that means you’ll have more screen to enjoy gaming on.

As part of its event to introduce the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus today, Apple once again talked about the importance of games to its app ecosystem. We’ve already gone over how the new A8 processor will enable better visuals than ever, and that has publishers and developers lining up to produce content for the devices as soon as they launch. Apple revealed a list of companies, including Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Zynga, that are preparing to fully support both new iPhones.

In addition to the roster of developers, Apple vice president of marketing Phil Schiller brought developer Super Evil Megacorp on stage to demonstrate its new project Vainglory. The League of Legends-style game is in the works now, and the studio worked to optimize it for the iPhone 6’s larger screen and more powerful processor.

Super Evil Megacorp released a video showing off the game in action:

Gaming is key to the success of the iPhone. While people use their smartphones for Facebook and email, games generate more spending than any other app category on the iOS or Android markets.

In terms of developer and publisher support, Apple has an advantage over the competition. Major publishers and small developers alike tend to release their mobile games on iOS long before porting them to Android, and iPhone 6 and 6 Plus — with their larger screens compared to the 5S — could ensure that the trend continues.
