[UPDATE: On Friday, August 10, Konami posted an update to its Silent Hill Facebook page regarding an exchange program. Customers who purchased a new copy of the game for Xbox 360 “from a recognized retailer” can send their receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and information on exchanging the product. The opportunity applies only to copies purchased on or before August 8, 2012. All requests must be submitted by October 7. We’ve reached out for more details and will update this post accordingly.
While the patch for the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill HD Collection is still canceled, Konami mentioned that one for Silent Hill: Downpour is in development and will release “at a later date.”]
This afternoon, Konami announced via press release that it has canceled the forthcoming patch for the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill HD Collection “due to technical issues and resources.”
Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game suffered from a slew of technical and visual problems, including framerate and audio-synching glitches. Konami addressed these issues and released a patch for the PlayStation 3 version, but it will not be doing the same for Xbox 360 users.
Konami apologized to players still experiencing problems in the e-mail.
When asked for more information about the canceled patch, the publisher declined to comment. We’ll update this post with any new information — including any info about rebates for 360 players.
