Lara Croft returns next year in Rise of the Tomb Raider

LOS ANGELES — Ms. Croft is just getting started.

Developer Square Enix announced Rise of the Tomb Raider at Microsoft’s yearly press conference this morning at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The company showed a quick trailer of Lara Croft visiting a psychiatrist. She appeared haunted by the events of last year’s game, Tomb Raider, which rebooted the action-adventure franchise.

Armed with her trusty bow, Lara ignores her psychiatrists’s advice and explores a huge cave. She caps off the trailer by saying, “We become who we’re meant to be.”

Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to Xbox One in 2015. No word yet on a PlayStation 4 or PC release.
