Four hunters versus one alien — that’s the setup of Turtle Rock Studios’ upcoming next-gen shooter Evolve. Only a human is in control of each character and the giant extraterrestrial.
Turtle Rock Studios revealed details about its next game in an interview with Game Informer magazine. Evolve is a five-person multiplayer shooter coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this fall. It has players forming a four-person team of hunters while a fifth takes control of a massive alien.

The alien, meanwhile, is capable of performing devastating attacks and is difficult to kill.
2K Games is responsible for publishing Evolve after purchasing the rights to the game from THQ during the latter company’s bankruptcy auction in January 2013. Turtle Rock attempted to purchase the rights itself for $250,000, but 2K secured the game and brand with a $10.8 million bid.
Turtle Rock Studios is best known for creating Valve’s popular Left 4 Dead series. That franchise has players form a four-person crew to take on zombies in a highly replayable zombie shooter. The developer is hoping to bring that same kind of magic into Evolve.
