One of the standouts of the 1990s is ready to make its 2016 debut.

Wargaming’s WG Labs plans to release the reboot Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars on August 25 on Steam. The 1993 classic helped launch the 4X formula (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate) into space, and some consider it as one of the best strategy games ever released.

The turn-based reboot features 10 races from the 1990s games, with tactical, real-time battles. Voice actors include Mark Hamill, Michael Dorn, and Alan Tudyk. It also comes with a copy of Total Annihilation, a standout real-time strategy game from the 1990s.

Wargaming is known for its online games like World of Tanks and World of Warships, where players team up to take on an opposing squads of tanks or destroyers and battleships. But it also made a number of strategy games before it became known for World of Tanks. WG Labs is an incubator of sorts within the company.

“The journey for Master of Orion’s reboot has been an amazing one, and now we’ve approached our destination,” said Jacob Beucler, the publishing product director for Master of Orion, in a canned statement. “Along for the ride was the Master of Orion community, sharing their thoughts and guiding us toward an amazing Master of Orion experience for the new age.”
