Me Girl developer raises $1M to expand its girl-gaming lineup

Not all developers making games on mobile are going after Clash of Clans.

Developer Frenzoo announced today that it has secured $1 million in its most recent funding round. The studio, which is responsible for the popular Me Girl apps that target girls and women, is also releasing a hub game called MeTropolis that enables characters and stories from three various Me releases to interact with one another. Mobile gaming is a $30 billion business, and it has grown that large because so many different kinds of people are into playing on their phones and tablets.

Frenzoo’s existing investors returned to lead this round. That includes investment firms Fresco Capital, K5 Ventures, and Anshe Chung, Ltd. This brings the total that Frenzoo has raised to $3 million.

The company plans to use this latest influx of cash to speed up development of its new games.
