Mega Man creator Kenji Inafune is no longer with Capcom, but he is still working on side-scrolling platforming games starting boy robots.

Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 game is on Kickstarter right now and has just crossed $2.2 million in contributions, which was the goal the project had to reach to guarantee a version for consoles. Inafune’s studio, Comcept, confirmed that the game is now set to debut on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U.

Those console versions will join the previously funded PC, Mac, and Linux versions.

Comcept is also considering a version of the game for the next-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems, but it has that goal set at $3.3 million.

Mighty No. 9 is a side-scrolling action game that has players taking command of Beck, the ninth model in a line of robots. Beck must run, jump, and shoot his way through stages to take out the previous eight robots who are all infected with a computer virus. Like in Mega Man, Beck can use abilities that he steals from the enemies he defeats.

Inafune launched the campaign on Aug. 31 with an initial goal of $900,000. The project reached that mark in just around two days. So far, nearly 39,000 people contributed to the development of Mighty No. 9. The funding period will end in 14 days.
