It still doesn’t have an official name, but Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles successor is heading to the Wii U in 2014.

The Japanese role-playing game — all we saw was a big red X — is due out sometime next year.

Monolith showed off new footage that had the player character standing next to a giant mech. Nintendo promises that players can ride the robots and that the suits can fly.

“The goal is to create a large-scale open world that players can explore seamlessly,”Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said during the company’s pre-E3 livestream show. “The team is using their experience from creating Xenoblade to make this goal a reality.”
