It’s OK that you still stink at Hearthstone — most of us who play it do.
Blizzard Entertainment released some data about its megapopular collectible-card video game today, and it turns out that most of us play like garbage. Three out of four Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft players bounce around 25 to 15 in its ranked mode. It turns out that only an elite 0.5 percent of us are good enough to reach “Legend.” Between those two extremes, 17.5 percent are ranks 15 to 10, 5.5 percent are between 10 to 5, and 2 percent make it into the top 5.

The chart also makes it clear that Blizzard fully understands where the bulk of the player base is at, so it’ll likely work to ensure the experience remains appealing for people slumming around the bottom of the rankings.
“Recently, we’ve seen some comments from our players that feel they are not performing well in Ranked Play compared to others,” Hearthstone community manager Christina Sims wrote in a blog post on Batte.net. “[Or they are] disappointed by the fact that they haven’t hit Legend rank. We’re here to let you know that you’re actually doing better than you think — even going from Rank 20 to Rank 15 is an impressive feat.”
