It’s easy to miss the flashy and expensive displays at the Electronic Entertainment Expo industry tradeshow when you’re busy crisscrossing the convention center for back-to-back meetings.
That’s why I spent the last 45 minutes of my E3 2015 experience taking photos of everything I didn’t see during the week. This year’s show felt a lot more theatrical than previous years. The huge booths have always been there, but I also saw a lot of impressive statues and eye-popping props that made this E3 feel like a big comic book convention. Hell, it even had zombies that looked like they shuffled in from the set of The Walking Dead.
You can check out this year’s memorable sights in the gallery below.
It’s funny that the new Nintendo World Championships took place inside of the Microsoft Theatre.
Super Mario Maker was by far the most crowded section at Nintendo’s booth.
Halo 5’s Master Chief and Agent Locke guarded the entrance to the South Hall.
Warner Bros. had a life-sized version of Mad Max’s new car, the Magnum Opus. You can customize it in the game.
Microsoft’s booth had the new Ford GT supercar prototype to promote Forza Motorsport 6.
Microsoft missed out by not making this an indoor climbing wall.
To simulate the Guitar Hero Live experience, Activision had a few (fake) fans cheering on the players.
Never trust that smile.
Codsworth, the robot from the Fallout 4 trailer, made jokes on the show floor.
In XCOM 2, the aliens are ruling the world.
If you wanted a Persona 4: Dancing All Night T-shirt, you had to come up and dance with the adorable Teddie.
Veteran game designer Warren Spector and Robin Hunicke from Funomena playing Wattam. Those beanbag chairs were comfy.

At the Capcom booth, people could pose next to Street Figher characters and take photos with them using cool 360-degree cameras.
Bethesda’s booth had a faux-museum filled with items from the Dishonored games.
It had portraits of characters, costumes, and a TV that depicted an animated painting.
An enemy from Dishonored 2.
A terrifying photo-op based on the upcoming Doom reboot.
The Dark Souls III fountain had an endless supply of fake blood shooting up from the corpse.
Overkill Software is working on a Walking Dead game, so naturally, they had a bunch of zombies roaming the hallway.
On the first day of the show, I only saw two or three of them. By the third day, they were snapping at people in larger groups.
