Japanese Pokémon X and Y reveals new tree-like character in action

Nintendo is running a new trailer for Pokémon X and Y in theaters in Japan. The video features several moments of gameplay including the three starter Pokémon and the hero traversing the Kalos region. Nintendo also debuted the look of one of its new Pokémon for the first time.

For a few seconds, the video shows the tree-like Aurotto in action. The company previously announced Aurotto, but it hasn’t shown off the character in the game until now. Check it out at around the 30-second mark in the trailer below:

Aurotto joins a growing list of new Pokémon characters. So far, Nintendo has revealed around two dozen new creatures for players to capture. The total Pokédex is now over 700 Pokémon deep.

Pokémon X and Y launches worldwide Oct. 12 for the 3DS.
