Activision and EA's longtime feud routinely provides suitable news fodder, but I suppose I could glean the same amount of entertainment by watching two kids tussle over the duck spring rider at the local playground.

News Blips:

Star Wars: The Old RepublicActivision Chief Executive Officer Bobby Kotick doubts EA's profitability from Star Wars: The Old Republic. "[George] Lucas is going to be the principal beneficiary of the success of Star Wars," he told Reuters. "We've been in business with Lucas for a long time, and the economics will always accrue to the benefit of Lucas, so I don't really understand how the economics work for EA." Which, I suppose, is a more subtle dig over the intended "oversized raver glowsticks are dumb" taunt.

The PlayStation Vita apparently won't support PSOne titles at launch. The FAQ section of the official Japenese website states that games "in the PlayStation archives" won't work with the upcoming handheld until a future update. The US website's FAQ, however, offers a slightly different message: "Users can play PSP titles, minis, and PSOne classics titles, which are offered on the PS Store." I guess gamers can pass the time by playing other titles…you know, ones actually designed for the Vita's slick hardware.

Developer Rocksteady Studios announces new Batman: Arkham City downloadable content. Further proving that parcelling a game's content into tiny money-gated morsels actually works in this day and age, Rocksteady said in a Twitter post that "Brand-new DLC is coming December 20th with all new Batcave." No further details on pricing yet, but I'll pay double if I get to use Alfred as a training dummy.
