Nintendo’s Wii U home console is struggling, but it’s portable hardware and games are only gaining steam.

The Japanese publisher reported its earnings for the first quarter of its fiscal 2014 and revealed that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has sold over 5.4 million copies worldwide since its release. The multiplayer social-simulation game sold 1.19 million of those copies outside of Japan.

Those figures include both retail and digital eShop sales.

Nintendo also revealed that its Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon 3DS game surpasses 2.65 million in total worldwide sales. Again, that’s both at retail and through the eShop.

Finally, Nintendo said that sales of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for the 3DS were “brisk,” but it didn’t specify exact sales numbers. That game made an appearance on the best-selling-games list in both May and June, according to industry tracking firm The NPD Group.

All three games propelled the 3DS to sell over 1.4 million 3DS consoles in Nintendo’s first quarter.
