Milk: check. Dog walked: check. Enemies gloriously vanquished in vicious naval combat: check.
While there are only a few thousand Glassholes in the world to date, more of them are soon going to be walking around uttering seemingly random shouts of joy and groans of defeat. BrickSimple has just released a version of Battleship for Google Glass: GlassBattle.
Battleship is perhaps the perfect game for Google Glass. It’s simple, requires only perhaps a quarter of your brain, and requires almost no network connectivity. And, of course, it lets you game without watching your little Google Glass screen every second.

“What’s fun for us is that this whole application, including synchronous gameplay, was implemented using Mirror [Google’s Glass API],” BrickSimple’s Det Ansinn says in the video comments. “There are no native application pieces here, this is just pushing everything that Mirror does and make it do something cool.”
Of course, no one blew the graphics budget on this one — the grid is just that, a grid, and it’s a simple turn-based game with onscreen instructions and static images for winners and losers. But it looks fun, and what’s really exciting is what could be done in the future with, perhaps, an augmented reality in which your home and office, or perhaps your car or favorite cafe, get targeted via a Google Maps embedded “grid.”
Perhaps it’s a good thing there are so few people with Google Glass to date. Due to Google’s Mirror API quote limitations, Ansinn says BrickSimple can only accommodate a few players a day. To get the app, leave a comment on the YouTube video, and when Google lifts the quota, you too can play GlassBattle.
In case you are wondering, this is not the first game for Google Glass. That somewhat disputable honor apparently belongs to StarFinder.
