The developer revealed today that Plants vs. Zombies Adventures, a more social take on the franchise for Facebook, will leave beta and open to everyone on May 20.

PopCap announced PVZ Adventures in March. It has players building up their city while defending a motor home from waves of the undead. It introduces new mechanics, new weapons, and new social features.

Today at 6 p.m Eastern, PopCap will post a link on its Facebook page that will grant early access to the game for the first 500 people who click on it.

PopCap is separately working on a direct Plants vs. Zombies sequel that will expand on the original’s formula in July. The studio named that game Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time.
