Nintendo is nearly ready to help you upload and download your pocket monsters into the cloud.
The company revealed today that it will release Pokémon Bank to the 3DS eShop on Dec. 27. This service enables Pokémon masters to store and manage up to 3,000 of the creatures independent of a Pokémon cartridge. Gamers can then use the Poké Transporter app to move creatures from Pokémon Black and White or Black 2 and White 2 to the latest 3DS releases.
Pokémon Bank isn’t a free service. Nintendo intends to charge $5 a year for access, but it will give a 30-day free trial to anyone who downloads the Bank and Transporter apps between Dec. 27 and Jan. 31. This should give fans plenty of time to move their older monsters still stuck in the DS game to the 3DS version without having to pay anything.
After that, players that need to manage thousands of Pokémon will have a relatively inexpensive subscription service to make that process easier.
