Gotta remake them all.

At this point, it’s hard to believe a Pokémon game could ever be anything but a giant hit.

The newest entries in Nintendo’s monster-collecting and battling role-playing series for the 3DS have shipped 7.7 million copies worldwide, via Siliconera. The games came out in the U.S., Japan, and Australia on Nov. 21, with a European launch following on Nov. 28.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are remakes of the Game Boy Advance entries in the series, but fans seem more than happy to re-experience an updated take on an old adventure (you can check out our review here). By comparison, the originals sold 16.22 million copies worldwide. The previous installments in the series, the X and Y versions for the 3DS, have sold 13.29 million as of November. Those numbers also come from Siliconera.

Note, however, that copies shipped does not equal copies sold. On Nov. 26, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had sold 3 million.
