Nintendo’s upcoming Pokémon titles, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, bring a new flying game mechanic to the enduring role-playing series.
You could always use the “fly” power to move quickly between regions in previous Pokémons, but this time around, flying is actually something you can play, and it looks great. It’s clear that while these two new Pokémon games (which come out Nov. 21 in North America) are based on old Gameboy Advance titles from 2002, Nintendo is making a real effort to bring new life to them.

You will also find normal Pokémon in the sky, which you can access by using an item called the Eon Flute.
CoroCoro Comics, the Japanese magazine that revealed this flying mode in its latest issue, also revealed that Latios, Latias, Pidgeot, and Beedrill will all have Mega Evolutions — another feature that Nintendo recently introduced to help keep gamers invested in its long-running series.
Nintendo will hope that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire do as well as Pokémon X and Y, which together sold over 12 million copies in just six months.
