The block-building indie megahit Minecraft is breaking onto a new platform today.

Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition is available to purchase and download right now on the PlayStation Network digital store. PS4 owners can buy the game using the PlayStation mobile app, the console’s built-in game store, or through the Web for $20. However, if you already own it on the PS3, you can upgrade to this new version for just $5.

While Minecraft is several years old at this point, it is still one of the biggest games in the world. With its arrival on new-gen systems, it is likely going to maintain its popularity for the foreseeable future.

In addition to the $15 discount, PS3 Minecrafters can also transfer their saves from that last-gen console to their shiny new box. That way, if you’ve put 1,000 hours into building a blocky Sistine Chapel, you won’t have to lose your progress just because you want to play on your PS4.

Once players have their games up and running on the new-gen system, they may notice some improvements over the PS3 Edition. Minecraft creator and developer Mojang, working in conjunction with developer 4J Studios, was able to use the new hardware to make Minecraft worlds that are 36 times larger than those in the last-gen games.

Those larger worlds may make for a better multiplayer experience. The Mincraft PS4 Edition supports four-player splitscreen multiplayer and eight-player online action.

Minecraft is also making the leap from Xbox 360 to Xbox One this week. Mojang and Xbox One manufacturer Microsoft confirmed it will debut on the system on Friday. It features a similar discount for players upgrading from Xbox 360, and it also enables players to transfer their saves and downloadable content.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Minecraft will join the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and smartphone editions. Across those platforms, Minecraft has surpassed more than 55 million in sales.
