Nintendo’s mascot-punching franchise is getting a some upper-cut action.
During today’s Nintendo Direct livestream, we learned that the star of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! is coming to Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS. Little Mac, the diminutive boxer from the arcade and NES games, is the latest character to join the roster of fighters in the upcoming game.

It has four players simultaneously jumping around an arena and attacking each other as Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and more. For the first time, the company is releasing a Smash Bros. game simultaneously on its home console and handheld system, and it’s also the first time that it’s appeared on the publisher’s handhelds.
Super Smash Bros. is scheduled for 2014, and Nintendo still hasn’t given out a more specific timeline for its release.
While the brawler is due out for both the Wii U and 3DS, the two versions are not cross-compatible. They will feature slightly different characters and levels.
