LAS VEGAS — Sony Computer Entertainment has put in the work to get one of the most beloved indie games of the year onto its hardware.

The company announced that Shovel Knight is coming to PlayStation consoles during its PS Experience event today in Las Vegas. And it isn’t just a straight port, as developer Yacht Club Games announced it will unleash God of War’s Kratos on players as a new boss in the game.

The NES-style platformer debuted earlier this year on Wii U, 3DS, and Steam. The game quickly found an audience thanks to its throwback retro style.

Shovel Knight first started gaining traction with players as a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. It also got publishing support from Nintendo through the publisher’s indie-game program. But that, obviously, is not keeping the game off of Sony systems.
