Sixense Entertainment said today that it is creating a wireless version of its motion-sensing controls for video games.
The Los Gatos, Calif.-based company has been developing its magnet-based motion-control system since 2007, and it cut a deal a couple of years ago with game-gadget maker Razer to develop the Hydra motion-sensing game controls. Now Sixense plans to create its own Sixense-branded wireless system for gamers.

Sixense hasn’t disclosed how many of its products have sold, but it says that the demand for Razer’s Hydra has exceeded supply. Sixense believes its motion-control system, which enables you to manipulate things in a digital world by moving your arms around, will work well with the Oculus Rift virtual reality game goggles. That product will work best with a wireless system, Sixense said.

For now, Sixense is creating a development kit so that developers can make games that take advantage of the system. Then it will work on the consumer version. The wireless controller will work with the Oculus Rift and with Hydra-based content.
