Just when you thought Steam was safe, Slender Man is waiting for you in the shadows.

Publisher Midnight City, the new indie-gaming division of Majesco Entertainment, revealed that it will release developer Blue Isle Studios’ Slender: The Arrival for Steam on Oct. 28. That means horror-fans who prefer buying their games through Steam can get their hands on the scary adventure title in time for Halloween.

The game will debut on Valve’s platform for $10. Blue Isle previously released it independently in March.

For strong-hearted gamers, The Arrival is fully compatible with the Oculus Rift virtual-reality helmet. That means players can submerge themselves in the scary-as-hell virtual world as long as they have access to one of the Oculus development kits. But be careful: I heard that if you die in Oculus Rift, you die in real life.

Slender: The Arrival puts players in the role of a realtor named Laura who is trying to help her friend sell a remote property. Of course, when Laura arrives at the house, her friend is missing, and Laura must find her while avoiding what lurks in the dark.

Slender Man began as an Internet Meme on the message board Something Awful. Blurry pictures of kids on a playground revealed a tall, thin man standing in the background watching them. The Web quickly began crowdsourcing a vast amount of lore for the character.

Slender: The Arrival is a sequel to 2012 release, Slender: The Eight Pages.
