It’s due out for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U later this year. It once again has Sonic facing off against Dr. Robotnik in a colorful world for players to speed through. This time, Robotnik enlists the aid of some extra villains known as the Deadly Six, but Sonic also has some new parkour moves.
“We are proud of the strong relationship between Nintendo and Sega and look forward to continuing success with Sonic Lost World on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS,” Sega of America chief content officer Hiroyuki Miyazaki said in a statement. “The game marks an evolution of the Sonic series and fans –both old and new — will be excited by a story which sees two of video games biggest adversaries, Sonic and Dr. Eggman, joining forces for the first time to help defeat a new deadly threat.”
Sega released a gameplay trailer yesterday that shows the title in action:
Sega is also promising that both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Lost World will feature competitive multiplayer. The publisher didn’t detail what it means by that, but Sonic will have a “range” of modes for gamers to face off against one another.
Finally, the two iterations of Lost World are not identical. The Wii U version will have elements that take advantage of the GamePad controller. The 3DS, on the other hand, will get exclusive levels and unique capabilities for Sonic.
