Sony Computer Entertainment is celebrating the PlayStation 4’s first anniversary and boasting about the system’s success.
The electronics giant revealed that it has shipped 13.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles worldwide. That’s significantly more than the 10 million shipped Xbox Ones that Microsoft announced yesterday. Sony also shared an infographic that goes over some other milestones the PS4 and its PlayStation Network service have crossed in the 12 months since Nov. 14, 2013.
While the PS4’s sales numbers are impressive, Sony is also proudly pointing to the continued growth of its PlayStation Network service.
PlayStation Plus, the subscription-based online program, now has 7.9 million paying members. That’s more than 14 percent of the 56 million unique people who have PSN accounts.
