Yesterday, we reported that Sony’s trademark for The Last Guardian, the anticipated third game from developer Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the Colosuss), expired. Today, Sony tells GameSpot that the delayed game is still in development.

This is good news for those hoping to eventually play the follow-up to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, but it still isn’t completely reassuring. We haven’t seen The Last Guardian in action since 2010. That’s a long time for any game, especially one this anticipated, to go dark. It’s especially troubling that Sony seems disinterested in keeping up with the trademark.

Originally planned as a PlayStation 3 game, The Last Guardian is about a boy who befriends a giant monster. At this point, if we ever see it again, The Last Guardian will likely show up on PlayStation 4.
