October is the greatest. Autumnal leaves cover the ground, it’s a great sports month, and Sony gives you $20.

Unless you had an unhealthy habit of purchasing $200 worth of Rock Band downloadable content every month, spending more than a Benjamin Franklin on PSN in a single 30-day period used to be kind of difficult. Serendipitously, this promotion coincides with the service’s new Day-1 Digital program.
A few days back Sony announced that it is selling new games on PSN on the day and date of their retail availability. Customers can purchase titles like Assassin’s Creed III, Resident Evil 6, and Dishonored from the comfort of their couch and without a delay. Pretty much any two of those releases will push players over the $100 threshold — then bang: $20.
Just remember, only October purchases count towards this promotion.
