Splatoon tournament has Nintendo’s employees splatting each other for dominance

Splatoon is esports now!

December is a time to goof off — even if you make games.

Nintendo of America just started livestreaming a special tournament for its competitive shooter Splatoon. The company has several teams from Nintendo Treehouse, the division of NOA that handles localization, competing for supremacy. This is a “for fun” tournament, but the competitors definitely seem like they are taking it seriously. That is making for some excellent trash talk.

The Treehouse teams are competing in various modes to eventually declare a winner — although I hope the winning team has to take on a team composed of Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime and three of his clones.
