Splatoon is about to become more than meets the eye.
Nintendo announced today that its hit multiplayer shooter, Splatoon, is getting some Transformers content. During a Splatfest event, teams will represent either the Autobots or Decepticons, all while wearing t-shirts with their side’s logo. The team that covers most of the level in their color of ink wins. The event lasts from August 28 at 9 p.m. Pacific to August 29 at 9 p.m. Pacific.

Splatoon has become a surprise success for Nintendo, having sold 1.62 million copies as of July. The game came out on May 29 for the Wii U.
The success of Splatoon makes these kinds of partnerships possible, something that Nintendo needs with the Wii U struggling.
