Star Wars: Battlefront is coming … but not this year

LOS ANGELES — Electronic Arts sure knows how to tease Star Wars fans.

The publisher opened its yearly press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo today with a short video clip of how developer EA DICE is handling the new edition of the multiplayer action game Star Wars: Battlefront. The team visited the LucasFilm archives to capture photos of the original props and models from the legendary films. They also went to many of the original places where the films were shot, which helped them shape their version of the planets Hoth and Endor.

The video was EA’s way of saying it needs more time. It promised that we’d see more of Star Wars: Battlefront in spring 2015.
