Yet another publisher is getting into the digital card-battling space.

Publisher Electronic Arts revealed that it is making Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, which is a new collectible card game for mobile. It’ll debut later this year, and it’ll enable players to fight through a world by putting together decks filled with characters from the Star Wars movies and TV shows.

“We wanted to tap into the fantasy of collecting characters and starfighters and then let people enjoy the fun of playing with them creatively,” EA Capital Games executive producer John Salera said. “We have a great partnership with the talented folks at Lucasfilm and Disney Interactive. It is that collaboration that has enabled us to deliver a unique mobile experience that brings the vastness of the epic Star Wars franchise into the palm of your hand, available later this year on the App Store and Google Play.”

It’s not too surprising that EA would go for something like this. It has a deal for the Star Wars license, and other releases in this genre — like Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft — are making some serious bank for their publishers. Bethesda teased a card game of its own last night, The Elder Scrolls: Legends.
