We’re only 10 days away from the worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Y, the first 3DS installments in Nintendo’s popular series of monster-collecting and fighting. So if you need a little Pokéfix to get through the day, take a look at Charizard’s newest Mega Evolution, Mega Charizard X [above].

Mega Evolution is one of Pokémon X and Y’s most touted new features. It’ll enable certain pocket monsters to temporarily transform into powerful fighters with extra abilities and stat bonuses. For example, Mega Charizard X ditches the original’s Flying-type for a Dragon affinity. It’s also blue, so it has that going for it.

This is actually the second Mega Evolution for Charizard unveiled by Nintendo. The first, which we now know is Mega Charizard Y [right], gets a bonus to all its Fire-based moves. Which Mega Charizard you get depends on which version of the game you’re playing, X or Y (I’ll let you figure out which one gets you which).

Charizard joins Mewtwo as the second Pokémon to get two Mega Evolutions. Pokémon X and Y come out on Oct. 12 for the 3DS.
