Electronic Arts today released Tetris Blitz: 2016 Edition, a free-to-play game for iOS and Android based on the popular puzzle series. The mobile industry is worth $36.9 billion worldwide, and EA has had a great deal of success in this market with mobile hits based off known properties like The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.

Blitz differs from traditional Tetris by focusing on short, two minute rounds of play. The original hit mobile and Facebook in 2013.

“With more than one billion games played in Tetris Blitz, the Tetris Blitz: 2016 Edition is a vibrant update to the game, chock-full of rewards, new ways to progress, and more head-to-head competition through enhanced leaderboards,” a press release from EA noted to GamesBeat.
