InXile isn’t just an accomplished role-playing game studio — it’s turning into a master of Kickstarter as well.

Tonight, the Brian Fargo-led company announced that its crowdfunding campaign for The Bard’s Tale IV reached its $1.25 million goal. The effort kicked off on June 2 — meaning it took just 12 days for fans and others to fund the project.

The studio had previous Kickstarter successes with Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera.

The originally trilogy of Bard’s Tale games were PC role-playing games in the ’80s. The series had a short revival in 2004 with a new game simply called The Bard’s Tale, however, this new take was an action-adventure and also came out on consoles. InXile is billing The Bard’s Tale IV as a role-playing game again, with a focus on exploring dungeons.
