Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes

Last year’s Disney Infinity let players buy toys of various Disney characters and insert them into a sandbox game world. 2.0 adds Marvel Super Heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy to the mix.


Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Release date: Sept. 30

Shadow of Mordor is an action-game set in the famous fantasy world that we all know from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Players battle and mind-control an army of orcs, destroying them and pitting them against each other.


Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Release date: Sept. 30

Ultimax is a sequel to the first Persona 4 Arena, a 2D fighting game that featured characters from the popular Japanese role-playing game series. Ultimax continues the first game’s story and adds new characters like Junpei and Yukari from Persona 3.


Skylanders: Trap Team

Release date: Oct. 5

Trap Team is the newest installment in the Skylanders series, which lets players transfer action figures into a video game as playable characters. The new game supports a new kind of Skylanders, the trappers, which can capture certain enemies.


Alien: Isolation

Release date: Oct. 7

Alien: Isolation is a survival-horror game set between the films “Alien” and “Aliens.” You play as Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the female hero from the movies, and try to not get horribly murdered by the scary, two-mouthed monster.


NBA 2K15

Release date: Oct. 7

This is the newest installment in 2K’s NBA franchise, which most consider superior to EA’s NBA Live. Being a basketball game, it allows you to shoot bouncy, orange balls into stringy nets while a bunch of sweaty, tall men shove their hands into your face.


Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Release date: Oct. 14

Set between the first and second Borderlands titles, The Pre-Sequel features the same RPG/first-person shooter hybrid gameplay. It also takes place on the moon, and you can play as the funny little robot, Claptrap.

The Evil Within

The Evil Within is a survival-horror game directed by Shinji Mikami, the same man who created the iconic Resident Evil series. We do not currently know if it will also feature zombie dogs jumping through windows.


WWE 2K15

Release date: Oct. 28

The newest WWE game features completely new graphics for the current-gen versions. It also lets players relive the iconic rivalries of HHH vs.Shawn Michaels and John Cena vs.CM Punk.


Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Release date: Nov. 4

Advanced Warfare takes the first-person shooter series into the future, specifically 2054. It’s also the first Call of Duty primarily developed by Sledgehammer Games, which means the usual series’ developers, Treyarch and Infinity Ward, weren’t involved.


Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Release date: Nov. 11

Unity takes the franchise to the French Revolution, a wonderful time in history during which nothing bad ever happened to anyone. It features four-player cooperative play and refined controls.


Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

Release date: Nov. 11

Rogue, meanwhile, is only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It features naval gameplay similar to last year’s Black Flag. It also lets you play as a member of the Templars.


The Crew

The Crew is an open-world racing game that takes place across the United States. You can tackle challenges and races alone or with friends in a persistent, online map.


Dragon Age: Inquisition

Release date: Nov. 18

The third installment in the RPG franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition has you traveling a fantasy world, fighting dragons, and recruiting members to your party. While Dragon Age 2 focused on faster action and a smaller world, Inquisition promises to bring the franchise back to a larger scope.


E3 2014: Far Cry 4 Stage Demo

Platforms: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PC
Release date: Nov. 18

The fourth installment in the Far Cry franchise is another open-world first-person shooter. While Far Cry 3 had you playing as an outsider, you’re a native of this game’s setting: Nepal.
