This is part of our ongoing series about games and trends of one of the most longest-lived eras in gaming’s history — the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 generation.
Before we get to next month’s launches of the next-gen systems, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, let’s take a look back at the last seven years, specifically the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era. It undoubtedly produced a lot of great games, but we wanted you tell us which current-gen titles are your absolute favorites.
Below are some of the responses we got from Facebook and Twitter after we asked our followers to name their favorite current-gen games. You’ll see some expected responses, but a few answers will surprise you.
And please, feel free to join the conversation in the comments!

@GamesBeat It changes with my mood. Some days I’d say Call of Duty 4. Others Skyrim/Oblivion. And others Trials Evolution. — Death Grubb (@JeffGrubb) October 23, 2013
@GamesBeat Bioshock. Loved the atmosphere, the characters, the story, the music, and the gameplay. Easily my favorite game from last gen.
