No one dad should hog all that shower. That’s what I learned today.
We’re not even a quarter of the way through 2015, and I think we’ve all just received the best trailer of the year. It’s for the Steam Greenlight game Shower With You Dad Simulator 2015, and it is out of control. I don’t know if the video tells me much about how to play the game, but I also know that I don’t care and will have its theme song stuck in my head for the rest of my life.
Steam and PC gaming has gotten to a point where dozens of new releases come out every week. That makes discoverability a huge problem where even good games are getting ignored because people just do not have the bandwidth to keep up with what is coming out. One way to stick out from the crowd, of course, is to get weird, and Shower With You Dad Simulator 2015 gets really, really weird.
Check it out — oh, and be warned: Pixelated genitalia await anyone who clicks “play” on the following video:
Man, that track is hotter than the new Kendrick. You can download it for free right here. You know you want to.
As far as I can tell, Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015 is a game about taking a shower with your dad. Insightful, I know.
It’s up on Steam Greenlight, which is Valve’s filtering service where fans can vote on whether an indie game should have a place on Steam or not. It is still looking to get that approval. The developer, Showerdad, says it is a fast-paced shower-simulation where you need to scrub your dad’s back. Unfortunately, some dads are not your dad, and … and I don’t know, actually.
And that is kind of the point.
Purposefully silly games like Surgeon Simulator and Goat Simulator (the “Simulator” is crucial, apparently) proved last year that PC releases can find an audience by embracing the odd and stupid.
And what is odder than showering with your dad?
