The Walking Dead has risen once again in video game form.
Developer Overkill, the studio responsible for PayDay 2, is working on a new game based on megapopular comic book franchise The Walking Dead. The series has made its way into games before. Most notably, adventure-game developer Telltale won GamesBeat’s Game of the Year in 2012 for its episodic adaptation of the postapocalyptic world.

We’ll update this post with any new information.
“I’m a huge fan of what Overkill and [co-developer] Starbreeze have been able to do with PayDay 2,” The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman wrote in a post on Steam. “It’s just an amazing co-operative game, and I’m excited to be able to announce that Skybound is partnering with Overkill to make a Walking Dead game. I’m happy to say that it’s the co-op game that all of the Walking Dead fans have been waiting for.”

Previously, The Walking Dead has had the aforementioned Telltale game, a poorly received Activision shooter, and a pair of mobile games. Telltale is nearly finished with the second season of its game.
