The Steam community has spoken, and Valve has listened.

More than three dozen games will make their way to the Steam digital-download market thanks to Valve’s Greenlight program. That is Valve’s process by which it enables users to vote on games that they want to buy through Steam. The company then uses those user votes to help it make a final determination.

Today’s 37 approved games will begin debuting on the service in the coming weeks and months. The games include indie platformers, ports of mobile games, and game-making tools

These titles were selected on the same criteria we have been using in the past,” reads an announcement from Valve. “Votes in Greenlight give us a hugely valuable point of data in gauging community interest along with external factors such as press reviews, crowd-funding successes, performance on other similar platforms, and awards and contests to help form a more complete picture of community interest in each title.”

Notable titles in the latest batch of Greenlight games include indie platformer Blood of the Werewolf from developer ScientificallyProven, mobile Skyrim-like role-playing game Ravensword: Shadowlands, and beloved shooter Ikaruga from developer Treasure.

Ikaruga is one of the better known top-down scrolling shooters from Treasure. It puts players in command of a ship that can shift its polarity and absorb enemy shots of a certain color. It debuted in 2001 for Japanese arcades before eventually hitting the Dreamcast in 2002 and the GameCube in 2003.
