Treyarch blows up the future with its Call of Duty: Black Ops II launch trailer

By now, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a known quantity. The best a launch trailer for a certain blockbuster like this can do is remind the huge number of fans to get their preorders in.

Publisher Activision releases Black Ops II on Nov. 13 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. A Wii U version debuts alongside the system’s release on Nov. 18.

This new video amps up the excitement by quickly cutting between the explosions and the new gadgets from the latest entry in this first-person-shooter franchise. We see troops wearing cloaking-device camouflage, flying raccoon-like suits, and jet-powered winged backpacks.

If critics call out the Call of Duty developers for not making enough changes to its formula with each new game, then this trailer does its best to show off how different things are in Black Ops II.
