Game developers are already coming up with plenty of reasons for you to hunch over that shiny new gadget on your wrist.
Trivia Crack, the multiplayer quiz game for mobile, is coming to the Apple Watch. Developer Etermax revealed that it is working on the port because it wants players to have the opportunity to play the megapopular game without ever having to take their phone out. Trivia Crack was one of the most downloaded games of 2014, and it is one of the top-grossing apps in important markets like Canada and the United States. And by supporting Apple Watch early on, Etermax could give the game’s momentum a boost going forward. Mobile gaming is a $30 billion market, and Apple’s first wearable device could grow that figure if gaming apps for the watch catch on.

“[Trivia Crack] will be formatted so it will be able to be played entirely on the new Apple Watch face,” Etermax chief executive officer Maximo Cavazzani said in a statement. “You can answer questions directly on the watch, and get alerts when it’s your turn. No need to look at your phone.”
In order to play Trivia Crack on the Apple Watch, you’ll actually need to download it for your iPhone. The new device does not support native apps yet, so Trivia Crack will have to beam the information remotely from your smartphone to the watch.
This is just the latest Apple Watch game that developers have announced. Most notably, developer WayForward Technologies revealed that is working on an Apple Watch-only game called Watch Quest. That game has you choosing between an active and a passive play style depending on how much you want to stare at the screen strapped to your arm. We’ll have to see how that compares to something like Trivia Crack, which will demand a bit more of the player’s attention.
