Turner’s Eleague will use Faceit to manage its tournaments

No more gambling, kids.

Turner announced today that it will use it Faceit, a matchmaking and tournament organization tool, for its new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports competition, Eleague.

According to Faceit, its service has 4 million users logging in a total of over 12 million online game sessions each month. More than a billion people will know about the concept of esports before the end of 2016, according to industry intelligence firm Newzoo.

“We’re excited to partner with Turner and (talent agency) WME | IMG in this endeavor. We share the same vision for the esports ecosystem, and Eleague represents a first step in the evolution of the scene,” said Michele Attisani, co-founder and chief business officer of Faceit, in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “Combining these titans of the entertainment and broadcasting industries with Faceit’s esports expertise allows Eleague to provide the community an exceptional all-around experience, and we look forward to further collaboration towards the future development of the sport.”

Eleague will broadcast Counter-Strike matches on TBS and Twitch starting today, May 24. The first season ends with the Eleague Global Championship on Saturday, July 30, in Atlanta.
