The change is a big one for the consumer electronics company, which is based in Valhalla, N.Y. Until now, the company has been run by its founders, Carmine Bonanno and Fred Romano, who started the company in 1975. They were musicians who became businessmen and created a lineup of cool audio devices such as headsets for gamers.

At Motorola Mobility (which Google acquired), Stark ran a team of 700 people and managed a business with $9.5 billion in annual revenues. He also held other positions within Motorola over nine years. He was also CEO of Centerpost and founder of Advanced Micro Systems. He was a principal at McKinsey & Co. for nine years. .
