Earlier today, comments by Assassin’s Creed producer Vincent Pontbriand started spreading where he claimed that Ubisoft wanted visual parity on Xbox One and PS4 to “avoid all those debates.” The developer was referring to gamers who use figures like resolution and frame rate when they argue about which console is better. Fans took this to mean that Ubisoft wasn’t taking full advantage of one system so that the other version wouldn’t look worse. The publisher has confirmed to GamesBeat that this isn’t the case.

In response to Pontbriand’s comments, gamers are using the Twitter hashtag #PS4noParity to demand that publishers avoid parity for parity’s sake. We’ll have to see if Ubisoft’s denial is enough to satisfy fans.
