Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward officially releases next week Tuesday, June 23, but if you’re willing to bank on its quality in advance, you can gain access as early as this Friday, June 19. Yep, it’s head start MMO time – anyone who preorders Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will have a weekend leg up on everyone else.

If you’re a PC gamer, it’s even better – you don’t need to pay the full $39.99. The UK-based gaming retailer GMG has a 25% off discount cutting the price down to $29.99 in its VIP gaming sale. You’ll need to log into your GMG account or create a new one on this page in order to see the discount price. (You’ll be redirected after login.) GMG’s sale makes the best deal out there from an authorized digital retailer.

Games Planet Heavensward Deals

After you buy the game from GMG, Games Planet, Square Enix – or anywhere else – you’ll need to jump through a few hoops to get Heavensward early access up and running. This is mainly due to differences in versions for North America, Japan, and Europe/other regions.

First, check the length of your early access code. If it’s an 18 digit code, you’ll need to redeem the code here. From there, you’ll get a 20 digit early access code. (If your access code was already 20 digits to begin with, start paying attention again here.) Redeem the code here at MogStation. Full details on early access are also available here.

On Thursday, June 18 at 2 AM Pacific, all Final Fantasy XIV servers will go down for 24 hours. Then starting on Friday, June 19 at 2 AM Pacific, they’ll reopen again and require everyone to download the new patch. The Heavensward content will be unlocked for users whose accounts have the early access code activated.
