Vatican City gamers are playing a ton of Natural Selection and an RPG with busty girls

There's no way to say for sure which sister is Pope Frank's favorite.

People play games in Vatican City just like they do anywhere else, but what they’re into might surprise you.

Natural Selection 2 is abnormally popular in the home nation-state of the Catholic church, according to Steam Spy — a site that tracks player data from PC gaming’s most popular digital-distribution platform. The team-based multiplayer game is all about alien animals taking on a squad of space marines where each team gets a commander that research upgrades that enable the teams’ strategies to evolve. Of course, this is really interesting because the words “Natural Selection” and “Vatican City” evoke and instant oil-and-water response.

But Steam Spy’s data doesn’t lie:

If you’re having trouble parsing the above chart, the key metric is “Popularity (Players).” Natural Selection 2 comes in at 2,079.23 percent in this category, which essentially means that it is more than 2,000 percent more popular in Vatican City compared to the average number of expected players based on the worldwide average. So it’s not necessarily the most played game in the Vatican, but it is far more popular than anyone would anticipate based on global trends.

But let’s not stop with Natural Selection 2. Another game that is abnormally popular in Vatican City is Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth 2: Sisters Generation.

Here, just watch:

I guess Pope Frank just loves him some moe.
