Wargaming announced that is has begun a closed beta test for its digital card game World of Tanks Generals.
The online collectible card game is yet another extension of the World of Tanks universe, which has tens of millions of players. It’s a smart title to create since Blizzard Entertainment has whet the appetite of hardcore gamers on mobile and online devices with its tremendously popular Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft card game.

During the test, World of Tanks Generals will be available through web browsers, with versions for Android and iOS to be added in the future.
“Our main goal with closed beta is to evolve the game into the incredible experience we’re aiming for,” said Andrey Zimenko, the director of global operations for World of Tanks Generals, in a statement. “We’ve put a lot of effort into the game and are looking forward to seeing how testers like the current version, as well as hear their ideas and suggestions about the game’s future.”
World of Tanks Generals will offer a player-versus-player mode and player-versus-environment training battles, enabling players to master the game’s basics, build a number of decks, tailor strategies, and unlock the cards that suit their play style.
The test will have over 200 unique cards split between three factions — the U.S., Germany, and the Soviet Union.
The game will use the unified Wargaming.net ID that provides instant access to other Wargaming titles, including World of Tanks, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Warplanes, and World of Warships.
