Nintendo announced a new game today called NES Remix that breaks up some of its classic 8-bit era classics into a series of minigames for the Wii U. Surprisingly, the publisher released the collection immediately after revealing it for the first time.
We haven’t played a ton of it, but we just ran through the first 30 minutes and recorded it to help you get an idea of what to expect from this surprise game. Check out the video above, and let us know if you have any questions about NES Remix.

It features classics like Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, and Donkey Kong, but this isn’t some bundle of 8-bit favorites. Instead, Nintendo breaks out some of the biggest moments of those games for short little challenges.
The game also features “Remix” levels that add twists. In a Donkey Kong Remix stage, the entire stage is dark except for a spotlight on Mario. This makes things a bit more difficult.
