Old gaming consoles used to get plenty of “fast racing” games, but one developer is doing its damnedest to keep the genre from dying.

Fast Racing Neo is a new Wii U game due out December 10 for $15. It is a heck of a lot like the F-Zero games and the classic PlayStation franchise Wipeout. But those franchises are dormant at the moment. Wipeout 2048 came out in 2012 for PlayStation Vita and the last F-Zero debuted in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. But that was too long for Nano Assault developer Shin’en Multimedia out of Berlin. That company has put together Fast Racing Neo in memory of those games but with modern graphics and for a console that people are still (sorta) buying.

And now it’s time to inject speed directly into our eyeballs. We got our hands on Fast Racing Neo, and we’re allowed to stream the game for 30 minutes before our review drops next week. Join us, won’t you?
